Hey there. My name is Jenn and I’m signed up for thirty continuing education classes at the University of Utah this spring.

What??? Am I crazy?

Nope. (Yup?)  I like to learn, so I decided what the heck, why not embark on a learning challenge? My plan is to take these thirty classes during the next ten weeks and to share “30 days of 30 classes” with you.

A sampling of classes:

  • Screen Printing — watch out Robert Rauschenberg!
  • The Art of Pruning — watch out Edward Scissorhands!
  • How to Brew Beer —  watch out microbrew/artisan/large corporate beer company! (That class should score me lots of points with my boyfriend.)

The class sessions range from a few hours on a single day to a six-week course. I’ve created a special calendar to keep on top of all the learning and must confess: seeing all of the classes plotted out makes me a bit giddy. Bring on the brain fuel.

>Sign up for Lifelong Learning classes at Continuing Education at the University of Utah here.

>Learn a bit about me here.

P.S. Taking a class is a great way to get over intimidating subjects. Is there something you want to learn but you need a kick in the pants to get started? Leave a comment and I’ll be your Brainfuel cheerleader!

Ha! Put down the pruning shears and step away from the shrubbery.

Ah. You’ve seen my work, then, Barbara. My ninebark trembles in fear.

    Hi Jenn,
I write for the Daily Utah Chronicle at the U of U and I got a tip about you and your plan, I would love to speak with you and write an article about your challenge. Would you be available Tuesday or Wednesday evening? Please shoot me an email and let me know.

    Thank you!

Hey, Jenn – great to meet you in the yoga retreat class this past weekend. What a cool project – I’m jealous that I’m not doing the challenge. Sounds like you’re having a great time.
I still need to register for the April Irrigation Basics Class. I think I’d still rather be taking the whiskey tasting one though. . .

Nice to meet you too Francine–wasn’t Snowbird a beautiful setting for a day of rejuvenation! I didn’t realize it Saturday after the yoga retreat, but on Sunday afternoon I discovered that yoga kicked my butt.
Let me know when you sign up for Irrigation Basics. We can cheer for each other when we tackle our projects.
